Come November 7 to 14 for the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, Hockey Hall of Fame induction events and the opening of the Distillery Winter Village. Toronto in November has daily temperature normals of 8.1°C maximum and 2.3°C minimum, so build the trip around indoor visits and evenings out, with short walks between them.

November suits a visitor who wants a fair, a museum and an arena night more than a long day outdoors. It does not suit a trip built around all-day outdoor sightseeing. Base near Union Station for this mix; choose the last part of the month instead if the Santa Claus Parade or Christmas shopping is your reason to come.

November 2026 at a glance

The diary below puts the overlaps in one place. The linked guides handle the individual visits.

  • November 1 to 7: Festival of Authors ends November 1; the Royal opens November 6; Hall of Fame induction festivities begin November 7. Choose it for: A first weekend of books, or the start of the fair and hockey week.
  • November 8 to 14: Induction festivities November 8 and Celebration November 9; the Royal continues; Remembrance Day November 11; Winter Village opens November 12. Choose it for: The strongest mix of the month's events.
  • November 15 to 21: The Royal closes November 15; Raptors host the Knicks November 15 and 17; Winter Village continues. Choose it for: Basketball and a market visit on different days.
  • November 22 to 28: Santa Claus Parade November 22; Doja Cat November 25; One of a Kind Christmas Show opens November 27. Choose it for: A parade weekend or a concert and shopping trip.
  • November 29 to 30: One of a Kind and the Winter Village both continue. Choose it for: A shopping trip that can run into December.

November 1 to 7: books, then the Royal

The Toronto International Festival of Authors finishes on Sunday, November 1, after its October 28 opening at Victoria University in the University of Toronto. It is the first-weekend choice, not an event running throughout November.

The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair runs November 6 to 15 at Enercare Centre, Exhibition Place. Use the Royal car-free guide to choose your fair day, Horse Show session and route.

Toronto's clocks go back on November 1, at 2 a.m. Put any outdoor walking earlier in your day.

November 8 to 14: the heart of the best week

The Hockey Hall of Fame's induction festivities run November 7 and 8, with the Induction Celebration on Monday, November 9, at Brookfield Place, 30 Yonge Street. The museum is closed to regular visits on November 9; use the Hall of Fame visit guide for the weekend's museum plan.

On Wednesday, November 11, the City's Remembrance Day ceremony is at the Old City Hall Cenotaph, 60 Queen St. W. Arrive by 10:45 a.m. Give the ceremony its own time in the day.

The Distillery Winter Village runs November 12, 2026 to January 3, 2027, with a ticketed opening night; use the Distillery car-free guide for the district and the walk.

The Maple Leafs' schedule has nine November home games, including six from November 3 to 14. That makes early November the month's busiest stretch for Leafs home games. For an arena night, use the Scotiabank Arena arrival and return guide.

The appeal is the overlap. Start with induction weekend, choose a Royal day, leave Wednesday morning for the ceremony and put the Winter Village after its opening. You do not have to fill every evening.

November 15 to 21: basketball and a free market evening

The Raptors host the New York Knicks at Scotiabank Arena on November 15 and 17. Those are two specific options for a basketball trip, not the full November schedule.

For the Distillery, skip Friday to Sunday entry from 4 p.m. if you do not want to pay: the free-entry windows are before 4 p.m. on regular ticketed days, all day Monday to Wednesday through December 13, and all day on the later November Thursdays, November 19 and 26. On a ticketed day, be inside the gates before the 4 p.m. cutoff, not merely in the queue.

November 22 to 28: the parade, Doja Cat and One of a Kind

The 122nd Original Santa Claus Parade is on Sunday, November 22, 2026. Make it the reason for that weekend, rather than trying to fit it around the earlier fair and induction dates.

Doja Cat plays Scotiabank Arena on Wednesday, November 25. That makes a concert-centred midweek trip possible before the shopping show opens.

The One of a Kind Christmas Show runs November 27 to December 6 at Enercare Centre, Exhibition Place, opening at 10 a.m. daily. Pick the final November weekend if that show is your main draw.

November 29 to 30: carry the shopping trip into December

One of a Kind continues through December 6, while the Distillery Winter Village runs into January. For a late-November pair, put One of a Kind on Sunday and the Distillery on Monday, when Village admission is free all day.

How cold is Toronto in November?

The ECCC 1991 to 2020 normals for Toronto (City) give a November daily maximum of 8.1°C, minimum of 2.3°C and monthly precipitation of 70.8 mm. These are climate normals, not a forecast for your dates. Pack for cold, wet walks using the Toronto packing guide, and keep the indoor-day guide for a day when the outdoor plan loses its appeal.

Where should you stay without a car?

For this mix, choose a base near Union Station. Scotiabank Arena and the Hockey Hall of Fame are walkable from Union; the 509 Harbourfront streetcar goes from Union towards Exhibition Place. The trade-off is that the Distillery and Old City Hall are separate outings, not attractions at your door.

Use StayToronto's downtown short-stay locations to compare the base with your main event. A Union-area choice makes sense for several arena and Hall visits; if the Royal is the whole trip, follow the fair guide's west-downtown advice instead.

An adult TTC debit or credit tap costs CA$3.30; the one-fare guide explains how to use it for a car-free day.
