The Hockey Hall of Fame is in Brookfield Place at 30 Yonge Street, with admission downstairs via 10 Front Street West; regular fall hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and general admission costs CA$29.95 plus tax. Our pick is a weekday at the 10 a.m. opening, outside induction weekend, with the Esso Great Hall first. Official visitor information.

How do you find the Hockey Hall of Fame entrance?

Use 10 Front Street West for the street entrance. Inside Brookfield Place, go through Sam Pollock Square to the Galleria, take the escalators down and follow the admission signs. Admission is on the concourse level, east of the Brookfield Place Food Court, next to Pigeon Cafe (the Hall's entrance directions).

From Union Station's Great Hall West entrance on Front Street, the mapped pedestrian route is about 400 metres, or five minutes, to that Brookfield Place entrance. From 18 Yonge Street, walk north on Yonge toward Front: about 325 metres, or four minutes to the same door. These are OpenStreetMap routed estimates, before the indoor walk to admission.

King and Union are the nearby TTC Line 1 stations. The Hall also has PATH access through Brookfield Place's concourse; our rainy-day guide covers the indoor-walking trade-off. For payment and transfers, use the separate Toronto transit fare guide.

What does admission cost?

  • Ages 14 to 64: CA$29.95, plus applicable taxes
  • Ages 65 and over: CA$24.95, plus applicable taxes
  • Ages 4 to 13: CA$19.95, plus applicable taxes
  • Ages 3 and under: free

Tickets are sold online and at the admission desk. The Hall's 2026 ticket page says online admission tickets are valid through December 31, 2026. Museum admission and induction gala access are different purchases.

What is inside the Esso Great Hall?

Start here if the Stanley Cup is the reason for the trip. The Great Hall holds the Cup, the major NHL trophies, and portraits and biographies of the Honoured Members. There is a second stop within it: Lord Stanley's Vault, where the original Stanley Cup is displayed. That trophy was first presented in 1893 and retired in 1962. The official exhibit guide distinguishes the two displays.

The room was a bank before it was a hockey destination. Construction began in 1885, to a design by Darling & Curry, for the Bank of Montreal. The vault belongs to that history. The Hall's architectural history is a useful companion to the trophies.

After the Great Hall, choose the part of hockey you enjoy. NHLPA Game Time includes HARIBO Shoot Out and Pepsi Zero Sugar Shut Out; the TSN/RDS Broadcast Zone puts broadcasting into the visit. Those are the current names in the interactive exhibit directory. There are also the TSN Theatre and Tim Hortons Theatre, listed in the theatre guide.

If you have no interest in hockey, skip this stop. Being close to Union does not make it the right use of your day. Start with our one-day Toronto itinerary instead.

Induction weekend 2026: plan the Cup photo around the room

Induction weekend runs November 7 to 9, 2026. The Class of 2026 includes players Patrice Bergeron, Cindy Curley, Carey Price, Pekka Rinne and Keith Tkachuk, plus builder Brian Burke.

The weekend suits fans coming for the occasion. For a first visit built around a Stanley Cup photo in the Great Hall, choose an ordinary weekday instead. A longer museum day does not mean all-day access to that room.

Cup photo planner: Esso Great Hall access

  • Saturday, November 7: museum open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Great Hall closed noon to 4:30 p.m.; Great Hall visit windows 10 a.m. to noon and 4:30 to 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, November 8: museum open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Great Hall closed 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Great Hall visit window 3:30 to 6 p.m.
  • Monday, November 9: museum closed. Skip Monday for the museum.

The Stanley Cup moves to another location during the two Great Hall closure windows. The table is our planning calculation from the Hall's 2026 hours notice, not a photo appointment. It separates access to the room from access to the relocated Cup.

The Hockey Hall of Fame Game is Maple Leafs versus New Jersey Devils at Scotiabank Arena on Sunday, November 8, at 7 p.m.; use our arena arrival guide for that separate trip.

On Monday, November 9, the ticketed Induction Celebration is at Brookfield Place: gala doors at 5:30 p.m., ceremony at 7:30 p.m. The museum stays closed that day; the Spirit of Hockey store opens 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The standard gala ticket shows the ceremony on screens around the gala space; only the seated-ceremony ticket includes a seat. Fit the Hall into a day from 18 Yonge

A simple plan: the Great Hall at opening, the exhibits you care about next, then St. Lawrence Market or a walk along the waterfront. Both are walkable from 18 Yonge. Leave the afternoon open instead of building the day around an assumed museum finish time.

At StayToronto's short-stay suites at 18 Yonge, the Hall is north of your base in Harbourfront, and the waterfront is south. The mapped four-minute approach is the useful feature here. The trade-off is an outdoor street walk followed by a separate indoor approach to admission.

Before you go

  • Recheck the Hall's official hours for your date. The 2026 closure list also includes December 24 and 25, plus January 1, 2027; check holiday hours for other dates.
  • Induction tickets are limited; check hhof.com for the exact access included. The Hall's game package is sold out.
  • The Great Hall also closes for private functions (the Hall posted one for September 24, 2026); check the notice on the hours page before a Cup-photo trip.
  • Walking figures are map estimates, not timed walks or accessibility assessments. The Yonge route starts on a mapped path by the building; allow extra time for the lobby, crossings and the walk downstairs.
