About CityPlace & the Waterfront

CityPlace is Toronto's master-planned high-rise community, built on the old rail lands between Bathurst Street and the Rogers Centre and wrapped around Canoe Landing Park — eight acres of green with Douglas Coupland's canoe-shaped lookout and a mile-long Terry Fox running track at its centre. Fort York and the Bentway skate trail run along its western edge, the lake and Harbourfront are a short walk south, and the Rogers Centre, CN Tower and Entertainment District are all within about fifteen minutes on foot. A Sobeys on Fort York Boulevard covers groceries, and the 509 Harbourfront, 510 Spadina and 511 Bathurst streetcars connect to Union Station and the waterfront — most guests never need a car. It suits families, longer stays, and anyone who wants the downtown core close but prefers a quieter, park-side base; every suite is a full condo with kitchen and in-suite laundry.

CityPlace — frequently asked questions

How far is the Rogers Centre?

About a ten-minute walk east. The CN Tower and Ripley's Aquarium are roughly twelve to fifteen minutes on foot.

What is the neighbourhood built around?

Canoe Landing Park — an eight-acre green space with a canoe-shaped lookout and a mile-long Terry Fox running track. It's CityPlace's social hub, right outside the door.

Where do I buy groceries?

A Sobeys Urban Fresh on Fort York Boulevard is about a five-minute walk, inside CityPlace itself.

How do I get around from here?

The 509 Harbourfront, 510 Spadina and 511 Bathurst streetcars run along the neighbourhood edges and connect to Union Station; from Union the UP Express reaches Pearson Airport in about 25 minutes. Most of downtown is walkable.

Is the waterfront walkable?

Yes — the lake, Harbourfront and the Bentway are about ten minutes' walk south and west.

Is this a good base for a Blue Jays game or a concert?

Very — the Rogers Centre is about ten minutes on foot, with Scotiabank Arena and the Entertainment District theatres within about fifteen.
