Toronto Christmas markets 2026: three markets, no car
By Declan Moss
Toronto's 2026 Christmas shopping dates are November 7 for the Art Crawl at The Bentway, November 12 to January 3, 2027 for the Distillery Winter Village, and November 27 to December 6 for the One of a Kind Christmas Show. Make the Distillery your anchor: admission is free all day Monday to Wednesday through December 13, and on November Thursdays after opening night.
These are two outdoor markets and one ticketed indoor show. They do not all run together. From a base at 251 Jarvis Street, walk to the Distillery and take a streetcar west for the other two. Our pick for a December trip is the Distillery on Tuesday, December 1, then One of a Kind's late night on Thursday, December 3.

Distillery Winter Village: go on a free evening
The 2026 Distillery Winter Village runs November 12, 2026 to January 3, 2027, at 55 Mill Street, south of Front Street East and east of Parliament Street. Many people still search for “Toronto Christmas Market”; the event's current name is Distillery Winter Village.
Opening night is Thursday, November 12, with the tree lighting at 6 p.m. That night is ticketed. November 19 and 26 are the free Thursday alternatives.
The entry rules are precise:
- Ticketed: opening night; from 4 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and Sunday; from 4 p.m. every Thursday in December; and from 4 p.m. daily December 14 to 31.
- Free: all day Monday to Wednesday through December 13; November Thursdays except opening night; and before the 4 p.m. ticketing cutoff on applicable days. You must already be inside the gates before 4 p.m., and the organiser expects line-ups, so arrive early.
- Children aged 9 and under: always free.
Tickets start at CA$16 plus HST and a service charge. They are sold online, with no on-site box office, and are non-refundable but transferable. The organiser's admission FAQ is the source for those conditions.
Skip a Friday-to-Sunday evening, or an evening from December 14 to 31, unless that date matters enough to pay for admission and allow time for a queue. The same lanes are free on Tuesday, December 1. Free entry does not mean an empty market.
From 251 Jarvis: the walk via St Lawrence Market and Front Street East is about 2.1 km, or 29 minutes before stops, using the mapped estimate in our Distillery walking guide. That guide owns the turns and the district's shops; this visit is about the seasonal entry rules.
For the transit alternative, use the November pattern. The TTC's King Street construction notice assigns 504 streetcars to one Dundas West-to-Broadview branch from November 1, 2026. The 504C replacement bus serves the Distillery at Front Street East and Cherry Street, not Distillery Loop. Reach King Street from Jarvis for the eastbound bus; the return is westbound to Jarvis, followed by the walk north. The Winter Village FAQ's 504A directions do not describe this November service.
One of a Kind: save Thursday, December 3 for the late night
The One of a Kind Christmas Show runs November 27 to December 6, 2026, indoors at Enercare Centre, 100 Princes' Boulevard, Exhibition Place. This is a ticketed shopping show, not another free outdoor market.
The organiser lists an adult early-bird ticket at CA$23 before November 27, with HST and a CA$2.50 transaction fee added at checkout. That is a dated advance price, not an all-season door price.
- Fri Nov 27: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Sat Nov 28: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Sun Nov 29: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Mon Nov 30 to Wed Dec 2: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Thu Dec 3: 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., Late Night Shopping Party.
- Fri Dec 4: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Sat Dec 5: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Sun Dec 6: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Choose December 3 if you want an evening at the show. It stays open until 11 p.m.; the Distillery starts charging at 4 p.m. that same Thursday. Give each its own evening instead of rushing between opposite sides of downtown.
From 251 Jarvis: walk south and west to Union Station, then take the 509 Harbourfront towards Exhibition and walk from Exhibition Loop to Enercare Centre. The alternative from the Bloor subway is the 511 Bathurst south from Bathurst Station. GO's Lakeshore West line serves Exhibition for regional arrivals. Our Royal Winter Fair guide covers those Exhibition Place approaches; its fair-specific GO ticket deal is not a One of a Kind offer. The one-fare Toronto guide covers payment and transfers.
Toronto Art Crawl: one free Saturday at The Bentway
The Toronto Art Crawl Christmas Market is on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at The Bentway, 250 Fort York Boulevard, under the Gardiner Expressway. Admission is free. The organiser's own Eventbrite listing confirms noon to 6 p.m. and provides the free tickets.
This is the early-season choice. The Winter Village has not opened yet and One of a Kind is three weeks away. Do not plan November 7 as a three-stop market crawl.
From 251 Jarvis: walk to Union Station and take the 509 Harbourfront west towards Exhibition, then walk from the Fleet Street area to The Bentway. The venue's directions also list 511 Bathurst at Fort York Boulevard. Head to the 250 Fort York Boulevard site, not Enercare Centre.
Which day should you go? The 2026 admission grid
Use this grid for the Winter Village's opening through December 13, with the other two events alongside it. “Free all day” describes admission during operating hours, not round-the-clock access. Every dated row below is in 2026.
- Sat Nov 7. Distillery Winter Village admission: Not open yet. What else fits: Art Crawl at The Bentway, noon to 6 p.m., free.
- Thu Nov 12. Distillery Winter Village admission: Opening night ticket required; tree lighting 6 p.m. What else fits: Neither of the other two events runs this day.
- Nov 13 to 15, 20 to 22. Distillery Winter Village admission: Free entry before 4 p.m.; ticketed from 4 p.m. What else fits: Distillery only.
- Nov 16 to 18, 23 to 25. Distillery Winter Village admission: Free all day. What else fits: Monday-to-Wednesday evening visits.
- Thu Nov 19 and 26. Distillery Winter Village admission: Free all day. What else fits: The two free November Thursdays.
- Fri Nov 27 to Sun Nov 29. Distillery Winter Village admission: Free entry before 4 p.m.; ticketed from 4 p.m. What else fits: One of a Kind opens; use the Distillery before 4 p.m. for free entry.
- Mon Nov 30 to Wed Dec 2. Distillery Winter Village admission: Free all day. What else fits: One of a Kind also runs; use Dec 1 for the Distillery.
- Thu Dec 3. Distillery Winter Village admission: Free entry before 4 p.m.; ticketed from 4 p.m. What else fits: One of a Kind late night until 11 p.m.
- Fri Dec 4 to Sun Dec 6. Distillery Winter Village admission: Free entry before 4 p.m.; ticketed from 4 p.m. What else fits: Last three One of a Kind days.
- Mon Dec 7 to Wed Dec 9. Distillery Winter Village admission: Free all day. What else fits: Last Monday-to-Wednesday free evenings before Dec 14.
- Thu Dec 10 to Sun Dec 13. Distillery Winter Village admission: Free entry before 4 p.m.; ticketed from 4 p.m. What else fits: One of a Kind has finished.
From December 14 to 31, the Winter Village requires tickets daily from 4 p.m. The free weekday-evening recommendation above ends before that stretch. For the rest of a November trip, use our November events guide.
Where should you eat around the markets?
Use a seated meal to break up the outdoor part of the day. These October 15, 2026 menu prices are for the named dishes, before drinks, additions, tax and tip.
- El Catrin, 18 Tank House Lane: CA$26.50 to CA$29.90 for a three-piece taco order. The dinner menu puts the mushroom tacos at the lower end and shrimp at the upper end. Stay in the Distillery for dinner after the lights.
- Cluny Bistro, 35 Tank House Lane: CA$28 to CA$33 for selected dishes. The dinner menu lists croque madame at CA$28, mussels at CA$32 and the burger at CA$33. Choose it for a longer sit-down stop on the Distillery evening.
- Hunters Landing, 82 Fort York Boulevard: CA$22.50 to CA$25 for selected mains. Its menu includes the Landing Burger at CA$22.50 and Landing Carbonara at CA$25. This is the west-side option, after The Bentway or before heading to One of a Kind.
For a restaurant booking during ticketed Winter Village hours, the organiser says proof of a dinner reservation admits you without a separate market ticket. That is a specific reservation rule, not free access for anyone intending to find a table.
Where does the evening go after shopping?
On the free Distillery evening, make Tank House Lane the finish: dinner at El Catrin or Cluny, then the walk back towards Jarvis. You have already chosen an evening without a market entry charge; dinner is a separate purchase.
After the November 7 Art Crawl closes at 6 p.m., head east along Fort York Boulevard for dinner at Hunters Landing. There is no Winter Village to add that night. On December 3, the ticketed One of a Kind late opening at Enercare Centre is the evening plan. Eat before the show rather than building the night around dinner after 11 p.m.
Does a Jarvis base suit this trip?
StayToronto's Jarvis suites are at 251 Jarvis Street in the Garden District, within Downtown East. This works for a short trip anchored on the Distillery, with one west-side outing. Jarvis is northwest of the Distillery, not inside its gates; the 2.1 km walk is part of the plan.

Not for a trip built around several days at One of a Kind. A west-side base near Exhibition Place suits that better; Parade in CityPlace is the more practical choice for that plan. We would not send you across downtown each day just to keep Jarvis in the recommendation.
Before you go to Toronto's Christmas markets
- Dates and entry: recheck the linked organisers' 2026 pages before travelling. Winter Village daily opening hours and holiday closures are not supplied here; its entry cutoff is not an opening time.
- Transit: check TTC service changes for your date. The November King service is the TTC's published plan; no route above guarantees a disruption-free trip.
- Walking: allow for crossings, weather and stops. The Jarvis-to-Distillery figure reuses the October 6 mapped route, not a timed walk or a step-free access assessment.
- Dinner and tickets: confirm current menus, table availability and the final checkout total. The One of a Kind price above is the advance rate available before November 27.
- Other market dates: St Lawrence Market has not posted its 2026 winter market dates yet, as of October 15.
